     On Saturday Evening the 17th of January 2009 beginning at 5 PM, approximately 8o Odd Fellows from Northern Illinois  participated in one of the largest Officer Installation events that any member present could recall.  The host for this solemn yet gala event was none other than Century Lodge #492 in Carpentersville, Illinois.  Odd Fellows from as far away as Janesville Lodge #14 from Wisconsin, and Freeport, Illinois were present.  Other Lodges that were represented were:  Legend Lodge #212, Ben Hur Lodge #870, Rockford Lodge #140, Sycamore Lodge #105 and Elgin Lodge #12.  Following the ceremony, food was provided by Past Grand Mel Meredith and his gifted kitchen staff.  District Deputy Grand Master Bill Maplesden and his installation team presided over this event with the Grand Lodge representative Deputy Grand Master John Goldberg in attendance.  A special thanks to all who attended.
